The Silent Mr Barber

It is disappointing when an elected councillor doesn’t respond to a question sent by a local resident. It’s rather more than that when such a councillor ignores three straightforward questions on four different occasions. This is the Leader of the Vale of the White Horse District Councillor – thus his behaviour models that which is expected from others – worrying. (It’s worth looking at the Vale’s Code of Conduct here )

One local resident was so fed up with being ignored that they have written to the Oxford Times. Perhaps Mr Barber will deign to respond now these questions are in the public domain.

This resident is in good company in being ignored by the Leader of the Council. The local Parish Council has had to contact local MP Ed Vaizey to see if he can persuade the silent Mr Barber to respond to their queries.

How should we interpret this silence we wonder?
