FLAG – Fyfield Land Action Group opposes the proposed Lioncourt development of 700 houses and a 70-bed care home in our parish.
We are a group of concerned local residents. Our aim is to assist the Parish Council and to give a voice to over 300 residents of Fyfield & Tubney who signed the petition objecting to the proposals.
The development is disproportionate in size for the location. It is in the wrong place — too far from Oxford to contribute to the city’s unmet housing need and too far from centres of employment growth. It lacks the required infrastructure to be sustainable. The impact of additional traffic on the local road network (A420/A415) will be severe, causing not only serious delays and more accidents but also noise, light and air pollution.
FLAG is a source of information; a channel for objections; and a promoter of sustainable development.
Our Vision
We aim to hold landowners such as St John’s College, planners and developers accountable through critical analysis of their plans. We shall resist all major developments that are based on GREED not NEED. We seek to safeguard the right of local residents to a sustainable life and to protect the environment for future generations.
